AccountantJob Summary:The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves recording transactions, reconciling accounts, supporting audits, and assisting management with financial planning and decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements accurately and on time.Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions.Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.Prepare and submit tax returns, payroll computations, and statutory filings.Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial information and documentation.Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved financial efficiency.Maintain confidentiality of financial data and support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reports.Qualifications and Skills:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is an added advantage.Experience:2–5 years of accounting or financial management experience (depending on the organization’s needs).Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Xero, or Oracle).Skills:Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).Excellent analytical and numerical skills.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.Strong organizational and time-management abilities.Key Competencies:Integrity and ethical conductFinancial acumenProblem-solving skillsAccountability and reliabilityConfidentiality and discretion
