We deliver a range of services across construction, environmental management, cultural education, financial wellbeing, and vocational training.We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant (CA or CPA) to join our dedicated team on a part-time basis (25-30 hours per week). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who values purpose-driven work and enjoys working within a collaborative, community-focused organisation. Flexibility to suit parent with school-aged children.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processing.Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting.Maintain accurate and compliant financial records in line with accounting standards and NFP reporting obligations.Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet items, and general ledger transactions.Support grant acquittals and funding body reporting.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant legislation.Collaborate with external auditors, advisors, and leadership team to support sound financial governance.Skills And ExperienceCPA or CA qualification (essential).Minimum 4 years’ accounting experience, preferably within a not-for-profit or community organisation.Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to cultural awareness and Muru Mittigar’s purpose to create meaningful, sustainable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Why Join UsPurpose-driven work with social impact.Flexible working arrangements (25-30 hours per week).Supportive, culturally safe, and inclusive environment.Work close to home in Western Sydney within a small, collaborative team.Generous Salary Packaging📩 How To ApplyPlease send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in this role to philip.goh@murumittigar.com.au
