Accountant

ProductLife Group is looking for an Accountant to join our Accounting department:ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of reporting costs, productivity, margins and expenditures for companies and organizations.Perform administrative tasks such as data gathering, balance sheet population or updating journal entries.Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses.Assist with financial and tax auditsDocument and monitor internal controls in support of auditing teamCoordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departmentsReady and maintain financial and business transactionsAnalyze the effects of transactions upon account relationshipsPlan the manner in which account structures should be developed or modifiedConsider the need for new or changed controlsEnsure the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to managementAnalyze complex financial reports and recordsReview journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracyTrain and mentor junior staffPerform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliationsMaintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assignedProfileMore than 5 years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environmentBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related fieldMaster’s degree in accountancy is required in many casesCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license, not always mandatory, but having one could give you an edgeSkillsHighly detail-oriented and organizedAbility to meet a constant stream of deadlinesProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employeesSuperior analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with accounting software and program
