We are looking for a reliable and organized Accountant to keep our finance operations running smoothly and support the team with day-to-day operations.Department: FinanceReports To: Senior accountantWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintain compliance with tax and audit requirements, analyze key financial metrics, and provide valuable insights to support management decisions. The role also includes responsibility for cash flow forecasting, cost analysis, and audit coordination, contributing to the overall financial stability and efficiency of the organization. Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable (AP) ManagementManage the entire AP process from invoice receipt to payment execution.Verify supplier invoices for accuracy, authorization, and proper cost allocation.Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies promptly.Prepare weekly payment runs and maintain vendor payment schedules.Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and approval workflows.Payroll & Employee Cost AccountingPrepare and process monthly payroll in coordination with HR, ensuring compliance with UAE labor laws.Reconcile payroll accounts and record employee-related costs accurately.Maintain payroll documentation and ensure timely salary disbursements.Budgeting, Forecasting & KPI ReportingSupport the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Analyze budget vs. actual performance and report variances with explanations.Prepare and maintain KPI dashboards and financial performance reports for management review.Contribute to strategic planning through data-driven insights and cost analysis.Cash Flow Forecasting & Treasury ManagementPrepare and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts, ensuring liquidity and operational continuity.Monitor cash inflows and outflows to optimize working capital and payment timing.Collaborate with management to plan funding requirements and manage treasury activities.Provide accurate AR and AP data for use in cash flow projections.Shipping Cost Calculation & Inventory AccountingPrepare and validate shipping, freight, and logistics cost calculations.Reconcile freight invoices and verify accuracy with logistics and procurement teams.Allocate shipping and related costs appropriately to sales or inventory accounts.Analyze freight and distribution cost trends to identify efficiency opportunities.Taxation & CompliancePrepare, review, and file VAT returns and other statutory reports in compliance with UAE regulations.Ensure proper documentation and accounting of taxable transactions.Support tax audits and maintain compliance with local tax authorities.External Audit & Financial ControlsCoordinate annual and interim external audits, preparing all required schedules and documentation.Address auditor queries and ensure timely resolution of findings.Strengthen internal controls and support process improvement initiatives.Month-End Closure & Financial ReportingPrepare journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.Conduct reconciliations and variance analyses to ensure financial accuracy.Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and supporting schedules.Bank Reconciliation & Treasury SupportPerform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.Investigate and resolve discrepancies efficiently.Support treasury functions including cash management, deposits, and fund transfers. Qualifications & Experience:Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong exposure to both AR and AP management, financial reporting, and cash flow forecasting.Technical Skills:Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (preferably QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, dashboards).Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS principles and UAE VAT/tax compliance.Soft Skills:Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines.Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.Advanced fluency in English Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification or progress toward CPA, CMA, or ACCA is a plus.Experience in a multi-entity or multinational organization.Prior involvement in financial automation or process improvement initiatives.If you’re looking for a role where you can be hands-on, keep things running efficiently, and contribute to a positive team environment, we’d love to hear from you.Please send your CV and a short cover letter explaining why you’re suitable for this role to info@scarlettpoppies.comSalary: Based on experienceLocation: Dubai, UAE (HQ)
