Accounting ManagerLocation: Remote (LATAM or South Africa strongly preferred)Schedule: Flexible; daily overlap with U.S. Eastern TimeEngagement: Full-time, Independent ContractorCompensation: Competitive; pegged to experience (monthly USD)About The RoleWe’re seeking a Accounting Manager to sit between bookkeeping and controller functions. You’ll own core accounting operations, implement a clean chart of accounts, improve monthly close, and support audits/QoE requests. This role partners closely with Operations and Leadership, ensuring timely, accurate financials for decision-making.Core Outcomes (KPIs)Month-end close in ≤ 7 business days with reconciliations completed. Accurate chart of accounts rolled out across entities; clear cost centers and class tracking. On-time AP/AR processing; DSO and aging within targets; clean vendor master data. Reliable reporting: P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Budget vs. Actual delivered monthly. Audit/QoE readiness: Documented policies, schedules, and support files; variance explanations. ResponsibilitiesOwn GL hygiene, journal entries, reconciliations (banks, credit cards, deferred revenue, accruals). Implement/improve chart of accounts, classes, locations; map to reporting packages. Oversee AP/AR: bills, approvals, payments, collections cadence, and vendor contracts. Revenue ops coordination (subscription billing, proration, refunds, deferred revenue, revenue recognition). Build monthly close checklist and timeline; manage deliverables and stakeholder comms. Support budgeting & forecasting; track operating and capital spend vs. plan. Prepare audit/QoE artifacts: trial balance, roll-forwards, support schedules, and policies. Partner with tax advisors on filings; maintain compliance calendar. Recommend and implement process automations (rules, integrations, AI-assisted coding). Ideal Experience4-6+ years in accounting/finance for SaaS or tech; strong QuickBooks Online (Xero experience transferable). Solid grasp of revenue recognition basics (subscriptions, refunds, credits, chargebacks). Comfort with multi-entity, multi-currency, and consolidation workflows. Excel/Sheets advanced (lookups, pivoting, modeling); experience with BI/reporting. Detail-obsessed, organized, and highly reliable communicator.
