Department: FinanceLocation: EMEA-TurkeyDescriptionAs an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting for our Turkish legal entity. You will handle daily accounting operations, month-end closings, and tax processes in line with Turkish regulations and Group Accounting Policies. Working closely with the Shared Services Center and Regional Accounting teams, you will prepare financial statements, manage AP/AR reconciliations, and support continuous process improvement. This İstanbul-based, 12-month maternity cover role offers an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting activities and contribute to the company’s financial integrity and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely booking of all journal entries in the ERP system (e.g., purchase & sales invoices, bank transactions, import & export files, employee travel expense reports, etc.)Ensure that all accounting entries align with supporting documents and comply with Turkish Tax RegulationsEnsure timely preparation, approval, and payment of all tax returnsPerform and manage Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) reconciliationsResponsible for all monthly and annual accounting closing activitiesPrepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Trial Balance)Control fixed asset accounting entries, prepare fixed asset reports, and follow up on inventoryMaintain and monitor accounting procedures and processes through a proper Chart of Accounts, ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies and Local RegulationsCoordinate month-end close process in collaboration with Shared Services Center / Regional Accounting team and respond to related queriesAct as the go-to person for the Shared Services Center regarding the Turkish legal entity (month-end close, ad-hoc requests)Provide full support for Align Turkey’s financial and accounting operationsSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or EconomicsMinimum 3–4 years of relevant work experience in financial accounting, preferably in a multinational environmentCPA (SMMM) license or internship statusBig 4 or outsourced accounting experience is a plusStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practicesProficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems (preferably LOGO and SAP)Knowledge of E-Invoice, E-Archive, and E-Ledger processesProcess-oriented mindset with the ability to define and improve end-to-end processesAbility to manage a flexible and dynamic workloadStrong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive solutionsAnalytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and systems orientationExcellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organizationDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilitiesHands-on experience in accounting operations with great attention to detailApplicant Privacy PolicyReview our Applicant Privacy Policyfor additional information.Equal Opportunity StatementAlign Technology is an equal opportunity employer.
