As the business continues to expand and evolve, my client is seeking a talented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join its finance team and contribute to its continued success.This is a full-time, permanent position based in the company’s office in Wicklow. As an Accounts Assistant, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the finance department across a range of accounting tasks. The company offers a dynamic and collaborative working environment, along with excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.Key ResponsibilitiesManage debtor collections, including monitoring and escalating overdue accounts.Prepare and communicate client statements, ensuring payment commitments are agreed upon. Accounts payable and receivable.Investigate and resolve client account queries promptly and professionally.Prepare, verify, and process invoices electronically for multiple entities.Process supplier invoices and prepare electronic payments.Conduct monthly supplier reconciliations and follow up on any queries.Assist in preparing year-end management accounts for multiple entities – including control account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journal postings, and detailed analysis of overheads.Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors to support audits, reviews, and other financial assessments.Utilise the Xero Accounting system to process transactions, reconcile accounts, and generate financial reports.Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports to directors, monitoring actual expenses against budgets and identifying variances.Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as directed by management, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.QualificationsAccounting Technicians Ireland qualification or equivalent (required).Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, within the property sector combined with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.Experience with year-end account preparation, budget creation, and variance analysis (preferred).Familiarity with VAT regulations and procedures, including experience in preparing and submitting VAT returns.Ability to interact professionally with external stakeholders, including auditors, accountants, and regulatory bodies.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across the organisation.A flexible approach and the ability to work on one’s own initiative.MUDS requisitionBenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience 40k - 45k doeSupport for continued finance qualifications.Life insurance.Collaborative and supportive working environment.Flexible working arrangements.Potential for career progression within the company.
