Support Worker - Overnight Sleep

About The RoleAs a Support Worker with Activ, you will be making a real impact in the lives of others by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. We are all about personalised and people-focused support, teaming up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. Join us in making a positive difference in the lives of those with disabilities!We currently have a permanent overnight sleep shift available in South Bunbury. There are 7 shifts a fortnight, including a weekend. Shifts range in length from 8-10 hours, broken by an 8 hour unpaid sleep period.

Shifts start as early as 2pm and finish as late as 12 noon. A typical day as a Support Worker may look like:

Supporting person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve themJoining customers in recreational activities such as swimming, dancing, bingo, horseback riding, going to the gym, bowling and moreSupporting customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointmentsEnsuring positive behaviour support plans are followed; andAdministration duties and mandatory daily reports.

The Ideal Candidate Will HaveCert III in Individual Support (CHC33015 or CHC33021) – essentialBe willing to participate in swimming activities with customers - essentialBeneficial - Previous experience in supporting customers with bowel care and epilepsy Live locally in the Bunbury region and be able to work the full rosterHave willingness to support customers of any gender by assisting with personal care (showering, toileting) and domestic duties (meal preparation, housekeeping)Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. Passion for providing service and assistance and helping others live their best lives.

Previous experience or willingness to train in manual handling and medication administration. Proven administration and computer literacy skills.
