Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia's second-largest public university in area.Fort Valley State University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity institution and does not discriminate against applicants, students, or employees on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or marital or veteran status.Job SummaryThe Department of Arts & Communications seeks to fill an adjunct faculty position in photography/videography in its Media Studies program, beginning on January 1, 2026.Selected individuals will be required to teach at least 6 credit hours, or more, of video editing and basic photography or photojournalism.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesTeach video editing classes.Teach basic photography class and its accompanying laboratory.Attend departmental monthly meetings on Microsoft Teams or in-person.Other duties besides teaching include regular communication with the departmental chair and media studies program coordinator.Meeting with the students periodically to discuss their classroom needs and progress.Creating course outlines/syllabi and lesson plans for the classes.Other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator and the Departmental Chair.Minimum QualificationsPossession of at least a master's degree or equivalent, in mass communications or related fields.Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut editing.Proficiency in teaching basic photography.Possession of at least 2 years of working experience in a broadcast, post-production television or film, or photography studio setting.USG Core Values Statement The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning, as well as the System Office.
