The role is within the International Engagement & Compliance Team, within Academic Services, who are responsible for many administrative services provided to our international students. You will be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) and have experience of working within a busy office environment.
You must have good organisational skills and strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, excellent IT skills and a demonstrable ability to follow guidance in handling sensitive and personal information. The ability to work proactively and solve problems is essential as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. We are also looking for someone who can demonstrate excellent customer service who is able to familiarise themselves with both internal and external policies and procedures and to comply with these at all times.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team dedicated to providing an excellent service to both staff and students. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring the University’s compliance responsibilities as an institutions licensed to sponsor migrant students under the Student visa route. This will include enrolment, maintenance of student records, and monitoring of data relating to student academic engagement in accordance with University policies and procedures. The post-holder will participate in the administrative processes associated with the issuing of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) statements to students requiring Student visas.
They will also be expected to provide administrative support to the team’s Immigration Adviser, and deliver a hands-on approach to helping international student through their journey from applicant through to graduateThe post involves frequent liaison with staff across the University, as well as external partners and you will have excellent ability to communicate accurately and clearly both in writing and verbally. Previous experience of UKVI compliance and/or immigration rules is not required, as training will be provided.
