Location: Remote, New England or Mid-Atlantic United StatesPosition Summary: The Admissions & Visa Advising Assistant reports to the Director of the ISI Abroad US office. The position is a full-time home-based remote position with an ideal start-date in the month of December 2025.To Apply: Please read the job description in full and submit your resume and role suitability prompts (replaces cover letter) as described at the end of this posting.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:As a team member at ISI Abroad, your duties will include but are not limited to the list below. As a member of the Advising team, you will: Process student applications and pre-departure forms for all ISI Abroad programs and sessions based in Italy.Support the pre-departure process and relevant info sessions and orientation requirements for students of various backgrounds and home institutions.Aid the recruitment process through virtual and in-person study abroad fairs, info sessions, classroom visits, etc. Organize and execute travel* during and after normal business hours to speak with students and study abroad office staff for various recruitment activities in the promotion of ISI Abroad programs. Travel will be in- and out-of-state, year-round, with peak travel being in the months of September and October.Develop and conduct recruitment and orientation presentations, working with staff overseas to ensure presentation accuracy. Counsel prospective students and families with regard to admissions and the overall study abroad experience. Enter prospective student data into the enrollment management system and HubSpot CRM Manage student relationships at every stage of the admissions process through data entry, emailing, calling, texting, etc. This includes team management of ISI Abroad’s admissions inbox.Liaise with study abroad offices to ensure that students are receiving up-to-date program details and manage program expectations. Learn to understand relevant privacy laws (Ex. FERPA and GDPR) as they apply to the advising process and student support.Support the student-oriented pre-departure newsletter (drafting content, creating student mailing lists, and fielding questions students send in response).Assist with the coordination of Italian student visa batch processing and individual application processes.Review student visa document submissions in ISI Abroad’s custom built Visa Processing Portal. Build mutually beneficial, positive working relationships with study abroad advisors, professors, and other university personnel. As a member of our US-based Office, you’ll additionally be asked to complete tasks that align with the following: Maintaining the ISI Abroad blog, supporting social media and advising content creation.Seeking creative solutions to help enrich or better prepare students for their study abroad experience.Working across time zones on various projects linked to the needs of our on-site programs and available or innovative pre-departure services.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:REQUIREDA Bachelor’s degree.You must have studied abroad and be able to express the growth and lessons learned you acquired from the experience. It is preferred, but not required, that your experience was with an ISI Abroad program (ISI Florence or the Umbra Institute) or at another study abroad program in Italy.Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to travel extensively. You must, therefore, have a valid US driver’s license and a valid government ID that satisfies Real ID requirements for domestic air travel (ex. passport or appropriate driver’s license). Ability to be organized and meet tight deadlines. Creativity and a desire to innovate in the field of international higher educationAbility to explain complex ideas in a reassuring and simplified manner, both verbally and in writing, and to spot and fill gaps in understanding.You must be able to work independently (this is a home-based remote position, after all) and as part of a team. Computer literate. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and relevant technology.You must be eligible to work in the United States.PREFERREDNote: you are not expected to meet all preferred requirements. Instead, your background in any of the areas below should be highlighted to show how you may grow in this position.Background in navigating complex bureaucratic procedures.Experience working with Italian (or similar) bureaucracy. Extensive background with social media, including ad work and analysis. Experience with AI platforms is a plus. Experience with the Italian language and culture; intermediate or advanced experience preferred. 1 to 2 years of professional experience in higher education, sales, marketing, public relations, recruiting, or a related field.
