Run small asset integrity projects with the process plant, while using mentor to developAs part of our team you willIn This Role, The Individual WillMonitor fabrication and welding activities to ensure quality.Working knowledge of API and ASTM Codes and standardsFollow compliance with safety protocols during fabrication, repair, and refurbishment of process plant equipment and structuresExecute routine maintenance on process and mining equipment.Collate and report data on projects, and asset integrity and remediation activities.Support in troubleshooting and resolving issues within the fixed processing plant, liaise with other departments to ensure operational efficiencyWork with global asset integrity team to understand the priorities andGuide and mentor employee’s, co-workers and business partners in proper Asset project management. Perform regular inspections of fabrication, structural repairs on tanks and structures. Understands and has been coached in the company's “Code of Ethic’s Policy” Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.Leadership – ensure team is focused on delivering results and have appropriate direction to advance Newmont’s goals; well-honed influencing skills, and the ability to produce results through influence.Prerequisites for your success in this roleA Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, a Trade qualification, or experience in a related field.Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) would be a benefitSeveral years of experience in project management, resource allocation, risk mitigation, health and safety protocols, and industry standards.Competent ability to interact, influence, and resolve conflict with various stakeholders—skilled experience in leading and developing teams.Experience in running small to medium projects in performing mining asset remediation, including tank structures, buildings, and support areas.Completion of a certified program of competence as a Millwright or Mechanical Tradesperson. Machinist, Welding to the equivalent of AWA or CWB standards.Advanced understanding of project management, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.Advanced knowledge and practical proficiency in project planning, delivery, tracking and monitoring, data recording and reportingCompetent knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for performance.Competent knowledge of health, safety, environment, and sustainability regulations and practices. Competent understanding of project cost management and financial principles.Working knowledge of work management systems, ability to source and order parts and supplies when needed.Advanced English (spoken and written), Dutch preferred, and a driver's licenseYour work environmentWhere you will be located!This position is located at Merian, project sites. Merian is a remote site located in a warm, humid tropical rainforest environmentThe Merian mine is located in North-eastern Suriname, approx. 98 kilometers southeast of the capital city of Paramaribo; 60 kilometers south of Moengo.Accommodation is in a camp/village environment near the workplaceSuriname has a tropical climate with dry and two rainy seasons with anticipated tropical rainfall of 1.5m to 2.5m of rain per year.The individual is required to work 6 weeks at the site, 3 weeks off fly-in fly-out arrangement. The incumbent is expected to spend most of her/his time in the field.Position may be required to travel to the Denver corporate office and assist other Americas sites.We understand no candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
