4416BRTechnicianAga Khan AcademiesThe positionRole DescriptionThe Technician will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance activities, including electrical work, carpentry, and general facility repairs. The role includes conducting routine inspections, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to service requests, and ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards. The Technician will support daily operations by maintaining building systems, assisting in event setups or relocations, and working collaboratively with the facilities team to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment. Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical WorkPerform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs of electrical installations.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in lighting, power outlets, DB panels, and small equipment. Ensure proper functioning of backup systems such as generators, UPS, etc. Support the installation of new electrical equipment and wiring as needed. Carpentry WorkCarry out wooden furniture repairs and fabrication as required (tables, chairs, cabinets, doors, etc. ). Install fixtures, panels, partitions, and shelving using carpentry tools and techniques. Ensure safety and quality finishing in all carpentry-related work. General MaintenanceAssist with minor plumbing, painting, mechanical, or civil repairs as assigned. Respond to maintenance work orders and emergency repair needs.

Participate in general upkeep of the building infrastructure and safety checks. Support set-up and dismantling of furniture for events, relocations, etc. The requirementsEducation Required Minimum SSC/Trade Certification in Electrical or General Maintenance (or equivalent). Experience: At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical and carpentry work. Additional QualificationsMulti-disciplinary skills and ability to handle various types of repairs. Knowledge of basic safety practices, electrical codes, and standard tools. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance instructions.
