Together, we are not just sailing; we are charting a course to push boundaries of what's possible.Position DescriptionAgile Coach – Naval Special Warfare (Onsite, Coronado, CA)Clearance Required: ACTIVE DoD Secret ClearanceSalary Range$100,000 - $120,000Position SummaryBlackSea Technologies is seeking an experienced Agile Coach to support the implementation and sustainment of Agile and Kanban practices within Naval Special Warfare (NSW) operational teams. This role is fully onsite in Coronado, CA, and focuses on applying Agile methodologies in non-software, mission-driven, and high-risk environments—including logistics, operations planning, training pipelines, and maintenance workflows.The Agile Coach will work side-by-side with NSW operators, leadership, and support elements to design, run, and continuously improve Kanban systems that enhance operational readiness, reduce friction in planning cycles, and create transparency in execution.This is a hands-on, embedded coaching role requiring strong communication, a service mindset, and the ability to adapt Agile frameworks to dynamic, real-world operational contexts.Key ResponsibilitiesCoach teams and leaders on the practical use of Agile and Kanban in non-software, operational environments.Stand up and refine Kanban systems: visualization, WIP limits, bottleneck analysis, and flow optimization.Facilitate cadences including stand-ups, retrospectives, planning sessions, and cross-functional syncs.Analyze throughput, lead time, cycle time, and other flow metrics to drive data-informed improvements.Support process mapping and value stream analysis across logistics, maintenance, operations planning, and mission support.Develop and sustain operational rhythms that improve alignment, prioritization, and decision-making.Mentor teams in continuous learning and experimentation aligned with NSW culture.Produce training materials, workshops, and coaching plans tailored to various operational teams.Collaborate with government and contractor personnel across ranks, maintaining trust and discretion.Required Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Information Systems, Organizational Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).5–8+ years of experience applying Agile practices in operational, non-software, or mixed-domain environments.3–5+ years of direct Agile coaching at team and organizational levels, emphasizing Kanban.Experience supporting DoD, Special Operations, intelligence community, or other high-risk environments.Proven track record implementing Agile practices in environments such as logistics, training, operations planning, maintenance, or mission support.Required CertificationsKanban-specific certification (KMP I/II or TKP).Agile coaching certification (ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, or equivalent).Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master).Active SECRET clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.Hard SkillsKanban systems design, WIP limits, flow metrics, cycle time analysis, value stream mapping.Agile frameworks in non-software settings, lean process improvement, continuous flow.Tools: Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps, Kanbanize, Miro, Mural, Confluence.Data-driven improvement: throughput analysis, bottleneck identification, forecasting.Facilitation: retrospectives, stand-ups, planning cadences, operational syncs.Soft SkillsConfident communication across officer, enlisted, civilian, and contractor communities.Servant leadership and influencing without authority.Strong situational awareness in mission-driven environments.Adaptability to ambiguous workflows.Relationship building, trust-building, and psychological safety support.Work LocationOnsite – Coronado, CA (Naval Special Warfare)Security ClearanceActive DoD Secret clearance required on Day 1.
