Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Agile Coach to drive Booking.com’s large-scale Agile transformation across multiple business units. This role demands a seasoned practitioner with hands-on experience leading organizational change, coaching at scale, and enabling continuous improvement across complex product and engineering ecosystems.Role Purpose The Senior Agile Coach demonstrates advanced capability in Agile software delivery, solving complex, multi-team challenges, and influencing at all levels—from teams to senior leadership. They bring practical, modern industry experience and foster lasting behavioral and cultural change toward continuous delivery and improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with Product and Engineering to ensure effective delivery of working software through lean, customer-focused approaches.Embed a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating reflection, learning, and measurable change.Apply systems thinking to remove blockers, manage dependencies, and improve flow and delivery metrics.Mentor and coach Agile Coaches, teams, and leaders—raising the bar for delivery practices and Agile maturity.Promote psychological safety and create environments where experimentation, feedback, and open dialogue thrive.Use data and delivery metrics to define baselines, measure success, and inform improvement.Drive behavioral change and build sustainable habits beyond direct engagement.Lead stakeholder management, influencing and aligning across all levels including CxO, SVPs, and product leadership.Support training and enablement, including foundational Agile education and advanced topics such as vertical slicing, flow optimization, and portfolio management at scale.What We’re Looking ForExtensive Agile coaching experience in engineering and product environments.Proven track record of driving behavioral change and measurable improvement over time.Experience across multiple levels—team, group, and organizational.Skilled in communication and coaching at executive (CTO/COO) level.Strong understanding of team topology, value stream mapping, and flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, etc.).Ability to establish consistency in language, process, and delivery practices across 70–100 teams and 7 semi-independent business units.Background in product teams is essential.Engagement DetailsStart: ASAPScope: Work across 3 business units per quarter; offboarding includes results aggregation.Business Units: Marketplace, Accommodation, FinTech, Central Tech, Consumer Services, Trips & Marketing.The Senior Agile Coach will play a pivotal role in making Booking.com’s delivery systems leaner, faster, and more effective, while aligning leadership and teams on shared principles and consistent Agile practices.
