Bloomsberry is dedicated to empowering farmers also by providing innovative solutions that enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability.Job SummaryWe are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Agronomist to support in optimizing crop yield, improving soil health, and adopting sustainable agricultural practices. This role is ideal for a Corps Member currently serving or seeking a Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) who’s eager to gain hands-on experience in greenhouse and open-field crop production. You’ll work directly with our farm management team on projects involving bell peppers, tomatoes, habanero peppers, onions, and sweet corn, learning the full cycle from soil preparation to harvest.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with soil preparation, nutrient management, and crop monitoring.Support transplanting, staking, pruning, and pest management operations.Help manage fertigation systems and irrigation scheduling.Conduct field observations and record data on crop growth and yield performance.Participate in field trials and research to optimize production techniques.Ensure compliance with farm hygiene, safety, and sustainability practices.Work closely with agronomy and operations teams to implement precision farming methods.Qualifications & SkillsMust be an active NYSC Corps Member (currently serving or seeking a PPA).B.Sc. or HND in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.Basic understanding of greenhouse and open-field crop management.Strong interest in sustainable agriculture and modern farming systems.Good communication, observation, and teamwork skills.Willingness to work in a hands-on, field-based environment.What You’ll GainReal-world, hands-on experience in commercial agriculture.Mentorship from experienced agronomists and farm managers.Exposure to greenhouse technology, fertigation systems, and modern agronomic practices.Opportunity for long-term growth within a fast-growing agribusiness.Accommodation may be provided (where applicable).How to Apply📩 Send your CV to: bloomsberryfarms@gmail.com with title: Agronomist (NYSC)
