This role works closely with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s overall business objectives. Additionally, the Commercial Controller is responsible for analysing and interpreting financial data to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making.
How Will You Make An Impact?Strategic PlanningCollaborate with the leadership team to formulate the business's medium to long-term financial and strategic plans. Develop financial models, budgets, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and strategic development. Deliver competitor analysis, market trend insights, and related commentary to the leadership team. Utilize data to influence strategic planning and decision-making; align financial and operational analyses with business objectives, while constructively challenging assumptions where needed. Financial Planning and AnalysisBuild and maintain robust financial models, including revenue and expense forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning, with actionable recommendations for improvement.
Analyze financial data to identify key trends and variances; provide insights and recommendations to drive business performance. Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with internal policies; monitor forecast accuracy, identify variance drivers, and deliver clear, insightful analysis for current and future periods. Compare actual results against budget and forecast, identify variances, and implement corrective actions where necessary. ComplianceEnsure all financial analysis activities adhere to relevant financial regulations and accounting standards. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and addressing queries related to financial planning and analysis processes.
Budgeting and PlanningSupport the leadership team in preparing annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets and financial plans. Review forecasts and budget models prepared by the team and suggest enhancements as necessary. Special ProjectsExecute special projects as assigned by the leadership team, contributing financial expertise and strategic insight. EducationA bachelor’s degree in accounting or FinanceProfessional qualification such as CA or CPA or CFAExperience5-10 years of relevant experience out of which 2-3 years in equivalent managerial roleFunctional KnowledgeSuperior financial analysis and financial modelling skillsFluency in Microsoft Excel and/or SQL, VBA, Microsoft Access, Oracle Financials, CognosArabic Speaking is a must.
