Our community consists of some 720 teaching, RDI and admin professionals, and 11 000 students.We are now looking foran AI Developer / Project Workerbased in Pasila for a fixed-term contract from January 2, 2026, to December 31, 2026.We are looking for an AI Developer with hands-on experience in building generative AI applications. In this role, you will contribute to research and development projects led by Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. You will design, implement, and maintain AI services and tools that are robust, secure, and usable by non-technical stakeholders. Oftentimes solutions are developed for the use of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Your job includes working with modern AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Agents SDK, Pydantic AI), integrating external data sources, and ensuring testing and evaluation of AI features.Most of the tasks come from the Finnish AI Region (FAIR) project, in which we, for example, develop proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions. You will also be involved in other types of tasks and services provided to SME companies.The ideal candidate has strong software engineering skills (Python on the backend, React/TypeScript on the frontend) and practical experience with LLMs, AI agents, and integrating APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, etc).Typical tasks include the following:•Design and implement LLM-based services, such as chatbots, workflows, and agentic AI applications.•Develop backend and frontend interfaces for AI applications and internal tools.•Integrate AI models via cloud platforms and APIs.•Build AI agents that interact with tools, APIs, and microservices (e.g., using LangChain, LangGraph, Agent SDKs, etc.).•Work with multiple and/or mixed data types and build data pipelines.•Containerize applications (Docker) for quick deployment and testing.•Document solutions, APIs, and workflows clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.You have a higher education degree, or you are about to finnish your studies. We appreciate following skills and competences:•Programming skills in Python, Java and/or Node.js for backend development.•Experience with developing React frontend applications using Typescript.•Experience with context engineering methods.•Experience with Git and standard software development workflows.•Teamworking skills.
