As an AI/ML Graduate Engineering Intern, you’ll join a growing team focused on building the AI foundation that will power Sigma for the future. Your work will become an integral part of the workflow for the thousands of enterprises that run on Sigma. We’re seeking current graduate degree students that are excited about bringing their knowledge and passion for AI/ML to our product and that are excited about launching their careers with our AI team.Internship Program QualificationsCurrent student: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university graduate degree program in the U.S with a graduation date of December 2026 or laterAble to intern in person in our San Francisco office from May/June 2026 through August or early September 2026Authorization: You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2026 programVisa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions, but we welcome applicants on a student visa (with authorization to work in the U.S.) to applyLocation: Our internships are in-person and located within San Francisco, CA. Relocation assistance will be provided for students who will need to relocate for the Summer in the form of a relocation bonus.What You’ll DoWork alongside and learn from our growing AI/ML teamPartner with product, design, and engineering teams to identify high-impact AI/ML opportunities and support the usage of AI in our product and internal development processesPrototype and productionize AI systems that feel intuitive but do a lot under the hood—recommendations, natural language interfaces, agentic workflows, and moreContribute to the development of an AI/ML infrastructure that powers both internal tooling and customer-facing featuresTackle novel UX problems at the intersection of AI, BI, and appsWhat You BringCurrent Graduate student studying AI/ML or CS with a focus in AI at a U.S. accredited universitySolid knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, and applied AIBaseline understanding of building and deploying production-grade AI/ML systemsKnowledge of the full ML lifecycle: data curation, training, deployment, monitoringExperience adapting or training foundation models (language or multimodal) for novel domains a plusA track record of building —whether it’s recommendations, search, machine translation, or something equally complex that demonstrates your domain knowledgeBonus Points (or Skills You’ll Build Here)You've built agents that can plan, reason, and use toolsYou know your way around cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)You’ve worked in a fast-moving startup or high-growth environmentAdditional Job detailsThe base salary range for this position is $70-$90 per hour (San Francisco, CA)Note: We have an in-office work environment in all our offices in SF, NYC, and London.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Sigma Computing.
