AI/ML Solutions Student Assistant (Part-Time)

About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated and technically curious student based in Colombia to support the design and development of AI- and machine-learning–driven solutions. This role is ideal for someone who has a solid foundation in Python and modern AI/ML methodologies, and who is excited to learn quickly in a real-world, fast-paced environment.You will work directly with the lead architect on a wide range of initiatives—predictive analytics, automation workflows, data engineering tasks, ML model development, and rapid prototyping.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, building, training, and testing AI/ML models (forecasting, classification, regression, NLP, etc.).Write and maintain Python scripts for data processing, feature engineering, model training, and automation tasks.Support development of end-to-end data workflows using cloud services, APIs, and modern ML/AI toolkits.Research new AI/ML tools, libraries, and methodologies and evaluate their applicability.Help build prototypes and proof-of-concepts for automation and analytics use cases.Analyze datasets, generate insights, and create visualizations or summaries.Participate in technical architecture discussions and solution design.Adapt quickly to new technologies, frameworks, and requirements—learning on the fly.Required QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a Colombian university (undergraduate or graduate).Preferred fields: Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related.Strong working knowledge of Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn required; PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus).Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts, such as:Supervised/unsupervised learningFeature engineeringData preprocessingModel evaluation metricsAbility to troubleshoot, solve problems, and work independently.Willingness to experiment, iterate, and learn rapidly.Good communication skills (written and verbal).Preferred but Not RequiredFamiliarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).Basic knowledge of APIs or automation tools.SQL experience or interest in learning database concepts.Knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, or prompt engineering.Experience with Git/GitHub.What You’ll GainHands-on experience applying AI/ML to real business and operational problems.Exposure to automation systems, data engineering, and production-level workflows.Mentorship, guidance, and opportunities to deepen technical skills.Flexible schedule compatible with academic coursework.Opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects.How to ApplyPlease provide:Resume or CVShort summary of your technical backgroundLinks to GitHub or coding samples (if available)
