Job Overview:As AI technology rapidly evolves, Nomura Group is promoting the business application of AI on an enterprise-wide scale. In parallel, Nomura Group has introduced an AI governance framework that covers end-to-end AI lifecycle and established an AI governance structure. This initiative aims to create an environment that ensures ethical and responsible development, implementation, and use of AI.Chief Data Office is responsible for AI governance across the Nomura Group and leading AI governance efforts at a global level. As relevant laws and regulations are continuously developed, it is essential to monitor regulatory trends not only in Japan but also overseas and update the framework as necessary. Chief Data Office collaborates with stakeholders from various backgrounds and areas of expertise at a global level, working collectively on AI governance initiatives as a unified group.Currently Chief Data Office is implementing AI governance framework and chairing the governance forum. We are seeking experienced professionals who can contribute to these efforts.Responsibilities:Framework: Design, development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of Nomura’s AI governance framework requirementsRisk evaluation: Design, development and ongoing maintenance of AI risk evaluation taxonomies and methodologies; work with the business and application owners of AI deployments, and other control domain owners, to ensure risks are identified and mitigatedAutomated Compliance: Design, develop, implement, embed and maintain second-line controls in line with Nomura’s AI governance framework requirements; develop controls testing approach and perform periodic testing of first-line controlsOperational management: Drive continuous improvement in CDO governance processes and solutions in line with the CDO automation and digitisation strategyRegulatory changes: Track and assess impact of relevant regulatory changes for AI to ensure timely updates to governance frameworkReporting and analysis: Design and operationalise reporting and analytics for AI risk management and monitoring, internal decision making and governance committeesAI literacy: Design and deliver training requirements to improve enterprise AI literacyRequirements:<Mandatory>Degree in a quantitative field preferred (such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics)10+ years spent in a data or technology risk, compliance or audit role, with exposure to working with integrating AI governance into broader cloud strategyExperience working with AI governance platforms for bias detection, explainability and automated complianceWorking knowledge of regulatory, risk and compliance requirements for financial services, including but not limited to data privacy, data security, BCBS239, third party risk management / material outsourcing, model riskStrong communication skills, business level in Japanese<Preferred>Experience of using industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 42001 or ISO 42005Qualifications such as Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP), AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) or similar will be an advantageEnglish language skills (business level)Location : Otemachi Tokyo
