Through a robust stakeholder feedback loop and supported by consistent processes and leadership, we take pride in delivering responsive, fair and professional service with empathy and efficiency.How You Will Create An ImpactFocused on Financial Lines this role is an opportunity to gain experience in handling and investigating complex claims, including but not limited to, Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Crime and Statutory Liability.You will be mentored with a focus on continuous learning and development.You will have access to a wealth of knowledge amongst the broader Financial Lines Claims team spread throughout Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney but also within the region and globally.Your work will involve regular contact with internal stakeholders and brokers, experts, and external lawyers enabling you to build effective relationships with internal and external customers. Key Accountabilities Will Include But Not Limited ToManage a portfolio of complex claims from beginning to end from first notification to assessing indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving and final resolution.Manage claims through a proactive, best practice approach, in line with AIGs quality standards.Attain familiarity with applicable law and regulations within and outside your local jurisdiction.Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas with good judgment to refer or escalate more complex issues.Develop a good understanding of insurance Policies enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretations and application.A passion for ensuring high quality customer experience to both internal and external customers.Provide customer service that promotes an understanding of the customer’s needs and viewpoint when identifying solutions.Maintain good communications with internal and external stakeholders including with underwriters, clients, brokers and vendors.Good time management in a fast-paced environment where internal and external demands can be challenging.Supporting the wider team in claims performance-oriented tasks.Supporting the wider team in ad-hoc projects as required.What You’ll Need To SucceedCandidates MUST have graduated a bachelor’s degree within the last 2 years by February 2026.AIG seeks candidates who have demonstrated outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement, possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and are enthusiastic about and committed to the insurance industry.Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite of applicationsA curious nature and a customer service mindset with good communication skills (verbal and written).Enthusiastic team player with the ability to optimise business values to clients by delivering high-quality services and positive client experiences to sustain and enhance the customer base.Passion for customer service excellence and ability to build, develop and maintain positive relationshipsHigh level of initiative and ability to prioritise tasks in an agile environment along with excellent time management and organisational ability.Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse data and use it for decision-makingTertiary qualifications in Law would is desirable but not essential (other disciplines will be considered).At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why team members come together in the office four days per week.
