United in the pride that comes with welcoming the world at Australia’s premier gateway.Job DescriptionAbout the roleSydney Airport is seeking a dynamic and experienced Airport Duty Manager to lead day-to-day terminal operations across our precinct. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, and seamless experience for millions of passengers. As a visible leader in the terminal environment, you’ll coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold Sydney Airport’s reputation for operational excellence, safety, and service.This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of passenger experience at SYD, develop a high-performing team, and play a pivotal role in the smooth running of our terminals.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Lead and coordinate daily terminal operations, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and legislative requirements. Coach and develop Terminal Supervisors to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. Respond to incidents and emergencies in alignment with Sydney Airport’s Safety Management System and Emergency Plan. Build strong relationships with airlines, ground handlers, government agencies, and service delivery partners. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team engagement and the customer journey. Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment, and development to build a capable and engaged operations team. About YouProven leadership experience in a complex, customer-facing operational environment—aviation or similar. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams. Demonstrated capability in incident response, risk assessment, and decision-making under pressure. Experience developing and coaching teams, with a focus on performance, engagement, and professional growth. Knowledge of safety regulations, emergency procedures, and operational compliance standards. Aviation or business management qualifications (or equivalent); First Response Medical or Senior First Aid desirable.
