This is your chance to lead a key regional asset with strategic importance to WA’s transport and logistics network.About the OpportunityThe City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is looking for a full-time Manager Airport based at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport, WA.Reporting to the Director Corporate & Commercial, this critical leadership role is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient management of airport operations in line with national regulations and local government priorities.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Managing the overall operational control of Kalgoorlie-Boulder AirportDeveloping and maintaining emergency and security plans per aviation regulationsLeading aerodrome technical inspections and compliance monitoringIdentifying and pursuing commercial and business development opportunitiesContributing to future terminal and airside infrastructure planningEngaging key stakeholders and contributing to airport-related projectsOverseeing security screening of passengers and baggagePreparing and managing airport-related budgets and reporting dataLeading staff with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and performanceAbout YouTo qualify, you will need tertiary qualifications in aviation operations or substantial experience managing major regional or capital city airports, as well as demonstrable experience in local government or similar public sector environments.The following certifications are essential:Aviation Lead Auditor QualificationAviation Investigation QualificationRadiotelephony LicenceEligibility for an Australia-wide AusCheck ASICWA “C” Class driver’s licenceCurrent National Police ClearanceThe following skills and qualifications are highly valued:Certificate IV in Training & AssessmentReporting Officer/Works Safety Officer CertificateStakeholder engagement and team leadership experienceFinancial management and reporting expertiseFamiliarity with infrastructure planning, project delivery, and airline liaisonAs our ideal candidate, you’ll have a proven ability to balance operational rigour with strategic foresight, combining deep aviation knowledge with a strong grasp of local government processes.
