Job DescriptionAirport Security Representative IIPosition OverviewThe Airport Security Representative II (ASR II) is a specialized, mid-level position within the Department of Aviation’s Access Control-Insider Threat Unit. This role provides investigative and analytical support to the Insider Threat Program (ITP) and serves as a bridge between operational access control functions and security risk analysis. The ASR II performs advanced investigations, conducts behavioral and access audits, and help develop mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with TSA 1542 and internal security directives.Key Responsibilities Conduct internal investigations into suspicious behavior, policy violations, and potential breaches of security. Analyze behavioral and access-control data to identify risk trends and patterns. Prepare detailed investigative reports and case documentation. Issue Breach of Rule Notices (BORNs) in accordance with established protocol. Perform work schedule and access audits to detect misuse or unauthorized activity. Assist in delivering Insider Threat briefings and awareness training for airport personnel. Collaborate with internal and external partners (TSA, CBP, APD CID, etc.) to ensure information sharing and coordinated responses. Maintain accurate investigative and audit records to support compliance and program integrity. Assist in security inspections of construction projects throughout the airport. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Airport Management, Homeland Security or a related field. Experience in aviation, law enforcement, or security operations, including investigations, audits, or threat analysis. Demonstrated knowledge of access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting platforms. Strong analytical, report-writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in criminal justice, Homeland Security, Aviation Management, or a related field. Advanced training or certification in investigations, insider threat, behavioral analysis, or security risk management. Two or more years of experience supporting an Insider Threat, Access Control, Investigations, or Security Compliance program—preferably in an airport or other highly regulated environment. Exceptional writing and documentation skills, including drafting investigative reports, audit summaries, and case files that meet compliance standards. Ability to maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, and situational awareness while working in fast-paced or sensitive security environments.
