Job Description

Position Title: Bi-Vocational Youth MinisterReports To: Senior Pastor and Personnel CommitteeEmployment Status: Part-Time / Bi-VocationalPosition OverviewThe Bi-Vocational Youth Minister will shepherd students (grades 7–12) and their families toward a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This role emphasizes gospel-centered teaching, personal discipleship, and building a healthy youth ministry that fits inside the overall vision and mission of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church #1. The Church understands that the Youth Minister will balance ministry responsibilities with outside employment while working closely with the pastor and volunteers to reach and disciple the next generation.

Key Responsibilities Spiritual Leadership Model a consistent walk with Christ through prayer, Bible study, and worship. Teach Scripture faithfully and clearly, ensuring all content aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Provide spiritual encouragement and biblical guidance to students and their families as needs arise. Ministry Priorities Lead weekly youth Bible study or discipleship gatherings on Wednesday Evenings. Organize youth events, mission projects, and retreats. Encourage students to participate in the life of the whole church, not just youth activities. Develop and maintain relationships with local schools and their administrators, taking part in FCS and sports events.

Provide pulpit support in the case of the Pastor’s absence. Volunteer & Parent Involvement Enlist and mentor adult volunteers to assist with youth ministry. Equip parents to disciple their own students by providing resources and encouragement. Communication & Administration Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and church leadership. Follow church policies regarding child protection and safety. Provide ministry updates to the pastor and/or church leadership on a regular basis. Qualifications Personal: A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear testimony of salvation. A clear and defined calling to serve students and families.

A lifestyle consistent with biblical leadership standards (1 Tim. 3, Titus 1). Educational/Professional: Some ministry training preferred (seminary, Bible college, or local church leadership). Prior experience with youth ministry (volunteer or paid) preferred. Skills: Ability to teach and relate to students. Organizational skills for planning lessons and events. Good communication and collaboration with church leadership. Working Relationships Reports to: Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee. Collaborates with: Church staff, deacons, and ministry volunteers. Supervises: Youth ministry volunteers. Compensation & Time Commitment Compensation: Part-time stipend determined by church budget. Estimated Time: 10–15 hours per week, including preparation, teaching, and ministry events. Evaluation:

Annual review by the Senior Pastor and/or Personnel Committee.
