Job Description

Analyst / Associate / Sr Associate – Mergers & AcquisitionsLocation: Brussels (Hybrid)Firm: Leading Independent Investment BankLanguages: English + Dutch or French (fluency in one is essential; bilingual proficiency highly preferred)The PlatformOur client is a high-performing M&A advisory platform with deep roots in the Benelux region and an established track record advising across the private capital spectrum. Operating at the intersection of private equity, entrepreneurial capital, and strategic corporate activity, the firm delivers tailored, execution-led advice on both the buy and sell side of mid-market transactions.

With a strong pipeline of active mandates and long-standing relationships with financial sponsors, family-held enterprises, and listed corporates, the Brussels team is seeking to strengthen its bench with the addition of a sharp, commercially minded Analyst or an Associate. This role offers an exceptional runway for progression, early exposure to decision-makers, and the ability to meaningfully shape transaction outcomes within a lean and entrepreneurial structure. Key ResponsibilitiesTransaction Execution: Take an integral role in the execution of complex M&A mandates—drafting marketing materials (teasers, CIMs, management presentations), preparing detailed financial analyses, and coordinating due diligence processes across multiple workstreams.

Financial Modelling & Valuation: Build, stress-test, and refine sophisticated valuation models (DCF, trading comps, precedent transactions, LBOs), with the ability to translate technical outputs into actionable insights. Client & Counterparty Interface: Engage directly with clients, investors, and counterparties—supporting senior dealmakers in managing competitive processes, positioning strategies, and international buyer/seller dynamics. Origination Support: Drive forward-thinking deal origination initiatives by conducting sector deep dives, white space analysis, target screening, and thematic intelligence gathering, with a view to surfacing actionable ideas. Process Management:

Liaise with legal, tax, commercial, and financial diligence advisors to support best-in-class execution and ensure seamless process delivery across cross-border transactions. Market Monitoring: Track key macroeconomic indicators, regulatory developments, and transaction flow across core verticals to inform both origination and positioning strategies. Candidate ProfileExperience: 2–3 years of rigorous training within a leading M&A advisory firm, investment bank, Big 4 corporate finance team, or a relevant boutique, with demonstrable exposure to live transactions. Technical Strength: Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and valuation; capable of owning full workstreams independently and under tight deadlines. Execution Track Record:

Direct involvement in M&A processes, including drafting materials, building models, and interacting with clients and stakeholders in high-stakes environments. Commercial Acumen: Strong grasp of the mid-market M&A landscape in Europe, with an ability to think beyond the numbers and contribute to strategic dialogue. Language Capability: Fluent English and either Dutch or French (bilingual candidates will be prioritized due to the firm's cross-linguistic client base). Mindset & Personality: Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and intellectually curious, with a strong sense of accountability and a desire to operate within a flat, high-performance team. Mobility:

Prior exposure to the Belgian market or a clear rationale for relocation to Brussels is preferred. This is a rare opportunity to embed within a high-calibre M&A team that combines the execution standards of top-tier investment banks with the agility of a boutique platform. With direct access to Partners, a strong bench of ongoing mandates, and a merit-based culture, the incoming hire will have every opportunity to accelerate their career within a team that prizes ownership, intellectual rigour, and long-term value creation.
