Head Accountant

We are seeking for our growing Oil & Gas division, an experienced accounting professional to oversee and enhance our financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, regulatory and fiscal compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, with a track record of excellence in managing complex accounting tasks and driving improvements in financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee full-cycle accounting processes, including general ledger entries and account reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled;Coordinate financial transactions data entry and document management, related to purchases, sales, receivables, payables, receipts and payments;Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes with complete and accurate financial reports;Liaise with the Treasury department on banking operations, ensuring a proper process flow and reconciliation;Prepare and review interim and annual financial statements in accordance with Romanian accounting standards and IFRS, alongside periodical management reports as per Management requirements;Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly tax returns (VAT, profit tax, etc.

) in compliance with Romanian fiscal regulations, and ensure all tax obligations are met on time;Liaise with tax authorities (ANAF) and external/internal auditors during audits / inquiries / evaluations, providing required documentation and resolving any issues to ensure full compliance;Engage with partners for balance reconciliation and carry out closing/offset as per need basis;Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and oversight to maintain high-quality work and foster professional growth;Collaborate with the finance and operations teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives to support strategic decision-making and improve overall financial performance;Maintain organized records of contracts, invoices, and other financial documents (physical and electronic), and ensure all financial-accounting documents are properly archived for compliance and reference;Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required – certified accountant status is strongly preferred; In-depth knowledge of Romanian accounting standards and tax regulations, and ability to prepare compliant financial statements and tax filings - Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and consolidation is expected;Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar role is required;Proficient with MS Office, SAGA or other accounting software – advanced MS excel skills required, and ability to work on large datasets;Medium-level Proficiency in English language;Self-starter with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities;Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with frequent changes that requires strong communication and adaptability skills.
