Maintenance Engineer

Job description: Long Description Job Summary Execution of maintenance activities in the plant during the shift in line with the departmental goals / requirements.   Job Responsibilities Overview •    Review the ‘Shift handing over’ with prior shift engineer to know the status of job tickets running /completed /balance in maintenance.  •    Take the physical attendance of the workmen. •    Conduct Tool box meeting at the start of each shift as per the Guidelines of ‘Tool Box Meetings’•    Allocate the job assignments to the peers working under him & issue the related Work Order details / documents & explain any criticalities involved.

•    Physically meet the Production Shift In charge for further clarity on priorities for production related breakdown urgencies. •    Ensure that all breakdown Notifications are attended immediately & there is no stoppage to Production activities. •    Prepare and conduct ‘Routine Inspection’ of the Machines, Equipments & Utilities. •    Execute ‘Preventative Maintenance’ (PM) as per the pre defined & approved PM schedule. •    Assist the Production Engineers to ensure that ‘Autonomous Maintenance’ is being followed at all work stations. •    Pl ensure that Data entry & Notification documentation is viewed & maintained on a hourly basis in SAP.

 •    Ensure that the required ‘Machine Breakdown’ data is also recorded & handed over in work station ‘Log books’.  •    Hourly basis routine checks / monitoring of Machines / machinery are carried out as per the Maintenance schedules. •    Ensure that all employees working under him use the required PPEs & adhere to all safety rules / practices of the Co.  •    Ensure that the maintenance activities are at the required speed and Quality levels as per the Company standards. •    Seek all required support from Superiors to achieve the required targets. •    Check & validate, the individual breakdown Completion reports submitted by workmen.

•    Ensure that SAP notifications are received for the  breakdowns of all the critical machines ( Machines which affect the production flow on break down ) •    Prepare a consolidated shift wise Work completion Report & report to the Maintenance Manager / HOD. •    Ensure Participation & play a support Role in team efforts for 5S & EHS initiatives. •    Ensure that immediate reporting of any kind of ‘Near Miss’ / ‘First Aid’ cases / ‘Safety Incidents’ to the Safety officer & concerned Superiors is done.      Candidate Requirements Knowledge : •    Conversant with Engineering and schematic drawings, Good technical Skills relevant to hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic trouble shooting.

•    Basic / working knowledge of PLC , CNC, DRIVES , Hydraulic and pneumatic components. •    Knowledge of Computers like MS office. •    Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferable. •    Conversant with operation and hands on experience in repair processes of FCAW, SMAW, SAW machines.  •    Basic knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques & at par knowledge in Operational Excellence methodology. •    ‘White Belt certification’ in Six sigma is a MUST. •    Well conversant with use of Production Tools, jigs and fixtures and its setting procedures. •    Working exp in SAP Environment is advantageous.  •    Working exposure with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 are preferable. •    Good command on languages Hindi & English.
