Overview of role: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Scientist to lead and support laboratory operations within a dynamic biosimilar environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining operational excellence through robust compliance with 5S, change management, and health and safety practices, while supporting the continuous improvement of laboratory processes and systems. Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to 5S principles in the laboratory, promoting a culture of organization, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Oversee routine and deep-cleaning activities across laboratory zones.
Initiate, assess, and manage change control processes to ensure all changes in equipment, systems, and processes are documented, reviewed, and implemented effectively and compliantly. Oversee inventory levels of laboratory supplies and critical reagents. Implement and maintain systems for tracking, ordering, and stocking materials to avoid shortages and minimize waste. Manage and oversee the Environmental Monitoring System to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements. Investigate excursions and implement corrective actions as needed. Provide training and mentorship to laboratory staff. Develop and deliver training programs to ensure personnel are competent in current methods, safety practices, and SOPs.
Champion a safety-first culture in the laboratory. Conduct risk assessments, implement safety controls, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Lead or support cross-functional initiatives and special projects aimed at improving laboratory efficiency, compliance, or scientific capabilities. Perform, review, prioritize, and ensure timely execution of laboratory work orders and requests. Maintain documentation in line with regulatory and internal quality standards. Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Ensure maintenance logs are complete and up-to-date. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related fieldMinimum of 5–7 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment (e. g. , GMP, GLP, ISO). Strong knowledge of 5S methodology and change control systems. Experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS), environmental monitoring systems, and inventory software is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior staff effectively. Proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
