Let’s change the world! In this vital role you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex Drug Substance engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role involves developing and implementing processes, guidelines, and tools to support project success across a broad range of facilities, including cGMP manufacturing plants, laboratories, utility plants, and administrative buildings. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and manage all aspects of capital projects from planning and implementation to completion and follow-up.

Establish project standards for work quality and quantity, ensuring all deliverables are met. Develop and manage processes and guidelines to support the design, construction, and operation of complex facilities, ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulatory requirements. Interact with all levels of executive management, internal user groups, and cross-functional teams to ensure project goals and objectives are well understood and met. Apply proper decision-making processes to resolve competing client interests on critical and time-sensitive issues, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.

Develop appropriate contracting strategies for project success and negotiate the use of resources to ensure efficient project execution. Provide technical problem-solving expertise across multiple teams, developing solutions to meet scientific, productivity, quality, and client satisfaction goals. Generate periodic updates, complex reports, and formal presentations for senior management and department heads. Act as a liaison with department heads, leaders, and team members to gather input and feedback. Recommend and implement process improvements for enhanced project team performance and success. Identify potential schedule slips or changes, analyze costs and resource impacts, and propose proactive solutions.

Basic qualifications: Doctorate degree in Engineering and 2 years of engineering project management experienceORMaster’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of engineering project management experienceORBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6 years of engineering project management experienceBeyond that, additional preferred qualifications are:

Proven experience leading engineering and construction projects in a GMP-regulated environmentDemonstrated success in managing complex project portfolios, with strong skills in task prioritization, timeline management, and meeting quality standardsSolid knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, drug substance manufacturing operationsStrong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing, managing, and inspiring high-performing teamsExperience overseeing indirect resources and managing vendor communications directlyAbility to collaborate across multiple functional areas and communicate effectively at all organizational levelsSkilled in leading change within dynamic environments, with expertise in negotiation, budgeting, goal setting, resource planning, and decision-makingExceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills in both English and Spanish; comfortable interfacing with executive leadership and cross-functional teamsCreative problem solver with a focus on achieving scientific, operational, and client-focused outcomesWillingness and flexibility to travel 5–10% based on business needsWhat You Can Expect Of UsAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
