Senior Business Analyst

HiRole: Senior Business AnalystLocation: SydneyContract JD Below: Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial markets, treasury operations, and big data analytics, with a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable insights and solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing financial processes, and leveraging data to support decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, and IT to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

Lead end-to-end business analysis for projects related to financial markets, treasury systems, and data platforms. Develop and maintain detailed business process models, data flow diagrams, and functional specifications. Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement. Support the design and implementation of data-driven solutions using big data technologies. Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations. Work closely with development teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend enhancements.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in financial markets and data analytics. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Systems, or a related field. 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on financial markets and treasury operations. Strong understanding of financial instruments, market data, liquidity management, and risk frameworks. Hands-on experience with big data tools and platforms (e. g. , Spark, SQL, Python, Power BI, Snowflake, MS BI – SSIS, SSRS). Proven ability to work with large datasets and perform complex data analysis.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies. Preferred Skills: Professional certifications such as CBAP, CFA, FRM, or PMP. Experience with treasury management systems (e. g. , Murex, Calypso, Kyriba). Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e. g. , AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Ability to mentor junior analysts and contribute to team development.
