The position will support Fastmarkets' analysis across various paper and board markets. Our team has a well-established presence in this field, along with an industry-leading product offering used by most major producers, end-users, suppliers, and financial service providers. The successful candidate will report to Fastmarkets' director of European Economic Analysis.The opening is an entry-level position that requires a bachelor’s degree in economics or statistics. The candidate should be detail-oriented and have a good understanding of economics, especially microeconomics. No prior knowledge of the paper and paperboard markets is required, but previous experience would be considered helpful in the role. The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills in English, while proficiency in other European languages is desirable. The position will initially focus on the packaging paper segments.If you want to develop your skills as an economist and contribute to a professional team producing market insights and information that clients depend on daily, don’t hesitate to apply!Principal AccountabilitiesThe job purpose is twofold: to support the efficient delivery of all economic analysis products and improve your abilities as an economist.Collect industry information and maintain databases up to date and organized to provide prompt feedback to economists’ requests and support the production of all Fastmarkets European EA productsProduce basic data reports such as capacity reports, annual historic data reviews and specific client data needs on timeAssist in the production of Fastmarkets European packaging paper products. Assist in providing client support for RISI’s European Economic Analysis products. Assist in the development of presentations, single-client and multi-client studies, forecasts and monitors to learn from the industries we cover and the methodology behind our productsConduct specific desktop research to enhance the quality and depth of our analysis.
