Join Roche, where every voice matters.The OpportunityThe Analytical Research & Development department is a key part of Synthetic Molecules Technical Development, globally advancing analytical methodologies for synthetic molecules. Join a motivated and experienced team where you will be the analytical leader for life-changing oligonucleotide projects from early development through to commercialization.Lead the end-to-end analytical development for synthetic molecule projects, specifically focusing on oligonucleotides, driving them from early development to commercial launchDefine and implement phase-appropriate control strategies for both oligonucleotide drug substances and drug productsCoordinate comprehensive analytical activities, including generating physical/chemical data and ensuring timely delivery and quality documentationDevelop, improve, and validate essential analytical test methods or other analytical controls in compliance with ICH guidelinesAct as the central analytical point of contact, effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, particularly drug substance process development and manufacturingAuthor and compile necessary analytical documentation for regulatory submissions, including IND and NDAEnsure meticulous adherence to cGMP, safety, and regulatory requirements in all internal and external laboratory workCoach and mentor technicians and junior scientists on project work, fostering technical growth within the teamWho you areYou are an experienced and dynamic analytical scientist ready to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced environment. You possess the deep technical knowledge to drive complex projects and a proactive mindset to collaborate effectively.You hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field, paired with at least three years of professional experience in analytical development for oligonucleotide drug substances and productsYou possess in-depth knowledge of oligonucleotide chemistry, covering synthesis, purification, and detailed characterizationYou are an expert user of key analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, and Mass Spectrometry (MS) specifically for oligonucleotide analysisYou have proven experience in developing, validating, and implementing ICH-compliant analytical methodsYou are proficient in conducting degradation and stability studies for oligonucleotides, including forced degradation and impurity profilingYou have excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with the ability to confidently work across interdisciplinary and global teamsYou possess digital acumen to support transformation initiatives, with familiarity in statistical analysis of analytical data being advantageousReady to bring your unique qualities to Roche and make an impact?
