Health & Safety AdvisorLocation: Waterford & South East, with occasional travelReporting to: QEHS ManagerEmployment Type: Full-time, PermanentRole OverviewA leading renewable energy project developer is seeking a QEHS (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety) Officer to support project teams across utility-scale energy construction sites. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and quality are maintained throughout project lifecycles. Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation, procedures, and regulations across project sites. Promote a proactive safety culture, delivering toolbox talks, inductions, and training to ensure all personnel are aligned with best practices.
Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, and monitor close-out of corrective actions. Support the development and implementation of the QEHS Management System, including ISO standards. Maintain and report accurate site documentation, including incident reports, H&S statistics, and audit logs. Liaise with contractors, site supervisors, and stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Support the investigation of incidents, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective/preventative actions. Stay up to date with changes in relevant legislation and best practices. Qualifications & Experience: Relevant third-level qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of QEHS experience within the construction or energy sectors (renewables preferred). Strong working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001). Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic project team.
