Name and Address of the Company: BNT INDUSTRY AND TRADING PLC, Addis AbabaJob Title: Coffee Certification and Out Grower Officer   Type of Employment: Permanent after ProbationSalary and Benefits: Negotiable Place of Work: Different Coffee Farm and Coffee Purchase sites Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Coffee Certification and Out Grower Officer to process the certification for coffee farms of BNT Industry and Trading plc and its suppliers. The candidate is also expected to coordinate the company’s activities in relation to out grower farmers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with national and international standards for quality, sustainability, and fair trade practices for coffee. The candidate is also expected to effectively coordinate all activities related with coffee-producing out grower farmers. This role requires a strong understanding of agricultural practices, certification requirements, and excellent communication, coordination and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities·      Follow up the certification process for BNT coffee farms and the coffee farms of its suppliers.

This job includes coordinating inspections, audits, and documentation requirements;·      Plan, carry out and monitor day-to-day activities in relation to the certification processes and coordination of out grower farmers.

·      Conduct regular visits to coffee farms to monitor compliance with certification standards and provide guidance on best practices;·      Collaborate with coffee farmers to implement sustainable and environmentally friendly farming methods, ensuring compliance with certification criteria;·      Provide training and education to coffee farmers on certification requirements, sustainable farming practices, and quality improvement initiatives;·      Maintain accurate records of certification activities, inspections, and compliance status, and prepare reports for certification bodies and stakeholders;·      Facilitate quality control activities, including cupping sessions, quality assessments, and post-harvest processing support, to ensure coffee meets quality standards;·      Engage with local communities to promote the benefits of certification programs and support community development initiatives;·      Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, NGOs, coffee cooperatives, buyers, coffee farmers, and certification bodies to advance the goals of sustainable coffee production;·      Stay informed about changes in certification standards, industry trends, and regulatory requirements related to coffee production; and ·      Carry out other related activities as may be required by the employer.

EducationBachelor's degree in agriculture, environmental science, plant science, or related fields. Experience At least 2 years of experience in agricultural certification, working with coffee farmers, quality control, or other related fields, with specific experience in coffee certification preferred. Core Competencies ·      Strong understanding of national and international certification standards for coffee, such as Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, Organic, UTZ, etc. ·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. ·      Proficiency in written and spoken Amharic and English languages. ·      Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

·      Readiness and willingness to travel frequently to rural areas, individually or as a Team Member. ·      Ability to coordinate different activities and efforts. ·      Commitment to promoting sustainable and ethical practices in coffee production.
