Application Developer - Senior(Java)

Our client is looking to fill the role of Application Developer- Senior (Java).The Sr. Java Developer will manage complex projects through the design, development, testing, and debugging phases of the application delivery lifecycle. This role includes designing and developing service components as an individual contributor while also providing technical guidance and leadership across the team.Location: On-site – Alpharetta, GA (Local candidates only. First 2 weeks in office, then 3 days/week onsite + as needed) Duration: 12+ Months Experience Required: 4–5+ Years Interview: Onsite Responsibilities:Utilize appropriate programming languages and technologies to write code, complete programming tasks, create documentation, and conduct testing/debugging for enterprise applications. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams and assist developers with architecture and programming best practices. Manage individual projects independently and ensure completion within allotted timelines. Assist in defining project scope and objectives, provide architectural input, coordinate programming practices, and identify resource needs. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports. Conduct project meetings, track progress, and perform project analysis. Ensure adherence to quality standards and review deliverables. Recommend and execute solutions to address complex technical issues. Lead the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems while remaining hands-on with engineering. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers. Collaborate with Lead Engineers, Architects, Product Managers, and Business stakeholders to define technical and functional requirements. Write high-quality code with a strong emphasis on automated testing and validation. Enforce engineering best practices: architecture, security, CI/CD, automation, configuration management, and compliance. Perform complex engineering tasks: performance tuning, monitoring, deployment, and production support. Implement, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines. Top 5 Required Skills:Java Spring Boot Microservices Kubernetes Kafka & NoSQL Required Qualifications:8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 6+ years of progressive experience in application delivery, including high-volume, high-transaction Java-based applications. 6+ years of experience building web applications using Java, Spring, and REST. Preferred Qualifications:4+ years of system architecture/design using Microservices. 4+ years of leadership experience (coaching/mentoring engineers). 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Terraform). 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar). 4+ years of experience with unit/functional testing (JUnit, Spock, Mockito/JMock, Selenium, Cucumber, SoapUI, Postman). Strong Unix/Linux proficiency. Expert experience with asynchronous processing, stream processing, and event-driven computing. Experience working in Agile/Scrum/Kanban environments. Familiarity with HTML5, JavaScript frameworks, CSS3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information.
