Working mainly onsite in Turku supports strong teamwork, while partial remote work is also possible.The recruitment is done in collaboration with Armstrong.Your role – Electric Powertrain at the Core of Heavy MachineryAs an Application Engineer in our Electric Powertrain Technology Team, you focus on the development of the electric powertrain for our large mobile machinery. Matlab and Simulink will be your daily tools. You will work on a modular software architecture, specifically those related to the electric powertrain. These modules are developed using model-based design and interact with the broader system via defined interfaces.You also get to create control algorithms, select power electronics components, and validate performance-based data on real-world measurement information.Your key responsibilitiesModel the electric powertrain system or its subsystems using MATLAB/SimulinkDevelop and validate control algorithms for electric powertrainsProvide hands-on support for prototype development and testingPower electronics component dimensioning and selection for electric powertrainAnalyze test and field data to improve system performance and reliabilityStay up to date with new technologies in electric mobility and off-highway electrificationYour background and what we find importantA suitable degree in engineeringKnowledge of full electric or hybrid machines, electric powertrain with embedded control systems, or inverter/motor controls are seen as a benefit.Experience in model-based development is highly valuedStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive, structured approachAbility to work effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teamsWillingness to travel occasionally, including to underground mine environmentsWhat’s in it for you?We offer you interesting tasks in our highly skilled, modern, continuously evolving, and international Electric Powertrain Technology team.
