The successful candidate will provide technical support to Sales Engineers and Channel Partners with the aim of maintaining existing business and generating new opportunities across Kennametal’s portfolio of cutting-edge products, recognized as one of the most comprehensive in the industry.Working closely with our valued customers and contributing to our success, you will represent some of the industry’s most diverse and in-demand products. From milling cutters and carbide inserts to solid carbide drills, tool holders, and more, we offer customers a broad portfolio for virtually any metalworking application.The Application Engineer will be responsible for conducting tests, preparing test reports, and identifying solutions that help increase sales opportunities. You will apply a high level of technical expertise that reflects our position as an acknowledged industry leader. This role involves working with distributors, direct accounts, or a combination of both.ResponsibilitiesIdentify new technical solutions and recommend tools from the existing standard portfolioCollaborate with tool designers to develop special tools according to customer requests, with the goal of winning new sales opportunitiesProvide technical support within the assigned geographical areaSupport existing customers and maintain current businessAssess and evaluate customer needs (direct and indirect) to develop effective strategies that meet and exceed targetsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with end users to grow long-term partnershipsPresent products to customers using best practice reports and proven solutionsKeep customers informed about new technologies and product innovationShare technical insights and solutions regularly with the local sales teamPrepare tooling lists for machines with detailed cutting parameters and time studiesActively support team sales initiatives by sharing relevant information for assigned accountsWork closely with Sales Engineers to determine the best technical solutions for customer requirementsParticipate in roadshows, open days, and trade fairsEducation And ExperienceDegree or apprenticeship in Mechanical/Manufacturing EngineeringExperience in the metal cutting or precision tooling industrySolid understanding of contracts and proven experience in commercial negotiationsStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes and metal cutting conceptsCNC programming, CAD/CAM experienceInnovative, solution-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work independentlyProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Valid Category B driver’s licenseIntermediate level of EnglishLocationHome-based in central or northwestern Slovakia, ideally within 100 km of our Žilina office, with frequent travel to customer sites.Salary And BenefitsCompetitive base salary, company car, performance-based incentive scheme, and additional benefits.Equal Opportunity Employer
