Application Specialist

Do you want to be in the front line of developing our next-generation technologies to serve our customers even better?We are looking for an Application Specialist, Advanced Process Control to join our Global Performance Services team. Performance Services provides high level expert services to optimize our customers’ mill performance in terms of production, quality, cost and environmental impact.As an Application Specialist, you will perform complex multidimensional performance analysis of client’s processes to identify potential improvements, troubleshoot and correct performance problems. You will develop and maintain customer performance improvement roadmap as well as develop advanced control and optimization solutions. You will work as a lead engineer and provide technical expert support to project and service personnel in the design of advanced control strategies, technology implementation, commissioning and maintenance of advanced process control and real time optimization solutions.Our head office is in Tampere, which is the primary location. However, other Valmet locations in Finland can also be considered.ExpectationsYou have a strong knowledge of control engineering, process modeling and optimization. Strong process background from chemical recovery (like evaporation, recovery boiler, causticizing and lime kiln) would be preferred. You can be a rising talent with 2-3- years of experience in the field.B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Chemical, Electrical (EET or EE) or Control Engineering is suitable educational background for you. In addition, we value if you have some experience in process performance analysis, troubleshooting and optimization, Plant process operations, engineering and maintenance. Valmet DNA engineering tools previous usage is a plus. Process modeling and data-analysis are topics that you feel comfortable as well. In global organization, you need to have fluent written and spoken English, other languages are considered as a plus.You are an analytical and solution-oriented professional who sees the big picture and actively contributes to the development of our processes and technologies.
