Job SummaryWe are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Estimation Engineer to join our Tendering & Estimation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing precise and competitive cost estimates for EPC and construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of technical drawings, BOQs, project specifications, and client requirements, particularly within the construction and oil & gas sectors. Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze tender documents, project specifications, and scope of work. Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting works. Perform accurate quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and BOQs. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
Develop and compile comprehensive technical and commercial proposals. Participate in pre-bid meetings, site inspections, and clarification sessions. Maintain and update cost databases, unit rates, and historical pricing. Provide support during contract negotiations and cost-related clarifications. Assist with budget preparation and resource allocation for awarded projects. Liaise with planning, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with timelines and technical requirements. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimation or tendering within the construction or oil & gas industry.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools such as Candy/CCS or equivalent software. Solid understanding of project execution methodologies, market pricing, and construction standards. Familiarity with QCS (Qatar Construction Standards), POMI, and RLIC processes is an advantage. Ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Preferred ExperienceHands-on experience with EPC, infrastructure, or large-scale industrial projects. Exposure to tenders from Ashghal, Kahramaa, QatarEnergy, and other Qatar-based authorities. Previous project estimation experience in Ras Laffan is highly desirable. Key AttributesHigh attention to detail with strong analytical thinking. Results-driven and proactive approach.
