Role OverviewWe are looking for a seasoned Senior Planning Engineer to join our team at QMFY. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in planning and scheduling EPC projects, particularly within offshore structural fabrication, including jackets, topsides, and heavy modules. This role is critical in ensuring project timelines are accurately developed, monitored, and delivered using industry-standard tools and methodologies. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, update, and manage multi-level project schedules (Level 1–4) using Primavera P6. Establish baseline programs and track project progress across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction. Conduct resource and cost loading, manpower forecasting, and productivity tracking.
Monitor critical path activities, flag potential delays, and propose mitigation plans. Coordinate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure schedule alignment. Prepare weekly/monthly reports including S-Curves, EVA, progress histograms, and look-ahead schedules. Conduct schedule risk assessments and support recovery planning initiatives. Provide planning input during bidding, including estimates and timelines. Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and project planning standards. Support delay analysis and claims preparation by maintaining variation and slippage records. Lead planning reviews, both internal and client-facing, ensuring clear communication of project status.
Required Skills & CompetenciesProficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Excel; MS Project is an asset. In-depth knowledge of EPC project phases and offshore fabrication workflows. Skilled in resource management, progress measurement, and productivity analysis. Experience in delay analysis, recovery planning, and earned value reporting. Strong coordination and communication abilities with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with fabrication yard operations, modular construction, and heavy structural components. Cost-awareness and understanding of planning-budget linkages. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Certification in Primavera P6 is required.
Training in planning, scheduling, or project controls is a plus. Preferred ExperienceOffshore module fabrication: jackets, topsides, decks, and heavy structures. Hands-on experience in EPC contracts for Oil & Gas or related industries. Knowledge of international standards and best practices in offshore fabrication planning.
