About the CompanyThe Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth within a defined territory covering counties across Ireland including those in the West of Ireland. This field-based position requires a hard-working, proactive and commercially focused individual who can build strong relationships with electrical wholesalers, contractors, and key stakeholders across the lighting and electrical sector.About the RoleThe role involves achieving sales targets by developing business plans, managing key accounts, identifying project opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer service to support continued market growth.ResponsibilitiesAchieve agreed sales targets across all wholesaler accounts within the assigned territory.Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale branch managers, buyers and electrical contractors.Develop and execute business plans to support growth within the existing wholesaler customer base.Follow monthly call plan to ensure consistent service levels across all accounts.Complete thorough preparation ahead of all customer meetings and calls.Drive both day-to-day stock orders and lighting project opportunities across the customer base.Monitor and report on market trends and wider market conditions for our industry.Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including pricing, purchasing patterns, and key contacts.Represent the company at industry trade fairs and events.Complete all monthly reporting requirements in a timely manner.Present updates, insights, and performance at divisional sales meetings.Manage and update the project pipeline database monthly.Attend relevant industry networking and social events.Minimum overnight travel with be required for this role (2-3 nights per month). QualificationsHard-working, self-motivated and results-driven.Comfortable working independently.Experience within the lighting, electrical, or related construction products sector.Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at multiple levels.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and develop effective business plans.High level of organisation with strong attention to detail.Full clean driving licence required. Required SkillsProven sales experience within the lighting, electrical, or related construction products sector.Experience working with electrical wholesalers and contractors.Knowledge of lighting products, technologies, and project sales.Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-first mindset. Preferred SkillsField-based role with overnight stays required.
