About the RoleWe are seeking a customer focused, results driven and technically competent sales professional to join our Townsville based sales team in the role of Area Sales Manager to generate sales growth in the North Brisbane, Southeast Queensland area.Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager experienced in this territory, the Area Sales Manager role is responsible for maintaining existing direct & distributor customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities focusing on the food and pack, OEM, distributor partners, end users and the general engineering industrial sector.We are offering an exciting opportunity to join SMC for an energetic, technical solution focused salesperson who thrives in a high-performance environment. Our successful applicant will be based in North Brisbane, and possess the following skillset and demonstrated previous experience:What you bringSales experience within a technical product portfolio (electrical and/or mechanical engineered product) or related industry sectors,Solid organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks,Sound problem solver and reasoning skills with solution and application selling capability,Possess exceptional rapport building and relationship building skills,Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience using a CRM and MS Office suite of programs,Possess a safety mindset to successfully operate within and promote a safe working environment, relative to the driving and travel requirements for these territories.QualificationTertiary qualifications in engineering highly regarded or relevant experience & technical aptitude/skills in either Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation (preferred),3-5 years minimum technical sales experience essential with proven experience in managing a designated sales territory with budget accountability and proven consistent track record.
