Job DescriptionAres Asia Credit team is looking to hire an Investment Analyst to join its Investment team based in Singapore. As part of the investment team, the individual will help to make direct special situations and credit investments. The individual will perform in-depth analysis on potential investment opportunities and build up a detailed understanding of the industry, the competitive dynamics therein and the target company. The work will involve both desktop research, such as analysis and modelling of financial accounts, as well as on-the-ground work.
While the work will be primarily based in Singapore, the role will have a pan-Asia scope and may require the candidate to travel within Asia. The individual will also assist in deal execution, the ongoing management and exit of investments. We are looking for self-motivated individuals with a strong interest in investing and a desire to gain exposure to a wide variety of industries and transaction structures. Individuals comfortable in a fast-paced environment will be best suited for the role.
Primary Functions And Essential ResponsibilitiesWork directly with senior investment professionals on new and existing dealsInteract with investee companies and other industry participants to manage investment positions and gather industry insightsResearch, compile industry data and understand industry trends and competitive dynamicsCollect company level operational and financial dataAnalyze financial statementsBuild and update detailed financial models for companiesPerform valuation using different methodologiesIdentify potential investment risks and consider potential mitigantsDistill the insights of analysis and present investment recommendationsPrepare Investment Committee (IC) memorandumsParticipate in meetings with investee companies and with the in-house investment committeeHandle other ad-hoc projectsQualificationsEducation:
Undergraduate or Masters graduate with over 2 years of relevant work experienceFresh graduates (GPA 3. 3 or above) will also be considered for AnalystPreferably a major in Business/Accounting/Finance/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics (other disciplines are also welcome)GPA 3.
