Position SummaryArsenault Dermatology is the market leader in medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology serving the Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch communities. We are seeking a highly experienced healthcare COO, preferably experienced in Dermatology, to collaborate directly with the CEO to translate vision into action. Strategic LeadershipWork directly with visionary CEO, translating strategic vision into operational and financial realityLead strategic planning for growth, expansion, and service line developmentAlign business strategy between departmentsDrive performance culture through KPIs and accountability systemsPrepare and present strategic updates and financial reports to Physician OwnersOperations & Clinical OversightOversee all day-to-day clinical, aesthetic, and non-clinical operations across multiple locationsManage and optimize patient flow, schedule efficiency, and provider asset allocation (seating chart)Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and Florida Dept of HealthDevelop and implement systems and process improvement initiatives for scalable and consistent operationsWork directly with Clinical Director and Leadership Team to foster culture of excellence and responsivenessProvider RelationsDrive recruitment, onboarding, and integration of dermatology providers (MD, DO, APPs)Build strong, trust-based relationships to support provider engagement and retentionLead provider contract negotiations with competitive, performance-aligned termsServe as key liaison between providers and admin teams to resolve issues and streamline workflowsTrack provider metrics (productivity, satisfaction, compliance) and support clinical excellenceDevelop strategies to boost provider satisfaction and foster collaborative cultureStay ahead of regulatory and payer changes impacting dermatology practicesPromote feedback, CME planning, and provider development initiativesData, Reporting & Decision SupportOwn the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure, including oversight of DOMO dashboards, ETL flows, and underlying data architectureBuild and maintain real-time executive dashboards tracking KPIs across revenue, expenses, provider productivity, patient flow, and operational efficiencyPersonally develop and troubleshoot ETL pipelines and data transformationsTranslate raw data into actionable insights, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for intervention across clinical and administrative workflowsServe as the lead data strategistDesign and implement self-service data tools for department heads and frontline managers to make informed decisions without reliance on IT or analystsIntegrate data from EHRs, PM systems, financial software (Intacct), and patient experience tools into unified reporting environments (dashboards)Lead monthly and ad hoc data reviews with the CEO, Physician Owners, and Leadership Team to track progress and course-correct as neededCompliance, Legal, and Risk ManagementOversee organization-wide compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, CLIA and Stark LawLead internal audits, documentation reviews, and compliance readiness assessment to proactively prevent violations and/or regulatory penaltiesServe as the front-line liaison for malpractice coverage, including managing incident reporting processes, coordinating with insurers and legal counsel, and overseeing documentation integrityParticipate directly in the legal review, drafting, and negotiation of provider contracts, working with external legal teams to structure agreements aligned with regulatory and financial objectivesReview and advise on vendor agreements, partnership deals, payer contracts, and lease obligationsManage risk exposure related to billing practices, credentialing, and licensureMaintain and enforce the organization’s internal control systems to detect fraud, financial misreporting, and/or security breachesPrepare all necessary documentation for external regulatory audits or payer investigations, and act as the point of contact for auditors and inspectorsTechnology & System OptimizationOversee implementation of financial, billing, scheduling, and EHR systemsDrive digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiencyCoordinate IT projects with cybersecurity, uptime, and data protection objectivesChampion automation tools for both financial and operational workflowsTeam Development / Organizational CultureDirectly oversee finance, operations, HR, and location leadership teamsEstablish clear goals, performance standards, and regular reviews for direct reportsEnsure the organization remains agile, accountable, and mission-driven during growthPromote a patient-first, team-centered culture across all levelsCandidate Profile10+ years in senior healthcare roles (COO/VP of Operations)MBA or MHA preferredSix Sigma Black Belt preferredMulti-site, dermatology experience strongly preferredExpertise in operations, finance, and complianceStrong leadership presenceCompensation & BenefitsSalary $225,000 - $250,000 plus performance bonus401(k) plus matchFull health, vision, and dental4 weeks PTO / yearRelocation support
