FWI is building a team to support Puerto Rico Department of Housing (PRDOH) Communication Services program for the Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Community Development Block Grant for Mitigation (CDBG-MIT). The Art Director will oversee all design projects from conception to delivery, creating original pieces and maintaining brand consistency across all digital and traditional communications platforms.FWI has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2024 and 2025, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.Position is contingent upon contract award**Work Schedule and LocationHybrid This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday,8am to 5pm, with some onsite work in San Juan, Puerto Rico.Oversee all design projects from conception to delivery, design original pieces such as illustrations, infographics, etc.Review graphic design teamwork to ensure high quality or refine the work, use graphic design software to improve images, fonts, layouts, and any other type of design, apply techniques to generate ideas to portray the client concepts and advertise programs or servicesContinuously improve user-friendliness across all digital platforms while maintaining brand consistency in all the communications projectsCollaborate with all departments and design teams to ensure deadlines and brand requirements are met. Stay up to date with industry development and tools to ensure the best practices are always implemented across all projectsCreate and/or design web pages, brochures, logos, covers, reports, advertisements, blog posts, social media layouts, and any other communications material. Create the same by hand or using technology or software programsMeet with the client to gain an understanding of their proposed work or communications and create illustrations, pictures, and or designs to reflect the desires of the clientEnhance the readability of text and images, produce drafts for review by the client, and make revisions based on the client's feedbackReview final products to ensure the same is free from errors and reflects the client's specifications before submitting itStay up to date with industry development and tools to ensure the best practices are always implemented across all projectsRequiredBachelor's Degree in Design, Virtual Arts, Art, Photography, or a closely related field7+ years of experience in a related fieldHands-on experience with image editing software, proficiency in design softwareSpecialized courses in graphic design or internships and freelance experience preferredHighly skilled with leading a detailed oriented creative teamExcellent verbal and writing skills in both Spanish and EnglishProficiency in the use of virtual design tools, technology, and software to create artFWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
