They provide real-time network surveillance, respond to incidents and alerts, maintain documentation, and collaborate with IT teams to resolve issues efficiently. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor network systems, devices (routers, switches, firewalls, servers), and overall network performance 24/7. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime. Respond to network alerts and escalate issues as necessary. Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes under supervision.
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, incidents, and procedures. Assist in enforcing network security policies. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless network operations. Provide regular status reports on network performance and incident resolution. Participate in shift rotations to ensure continuous network coverage. RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s) required to successfully perform the job: Strong understanding of networking fundamentals such as IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP). Proficient with network devices from vendors like Cisco and Juniper. Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e. g. , SolarWinds,).
Ability to interpret logs, alerts, and diagnostic data for troubleshooting. Good analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify root causes and implement solutions. Effective communication and documentation skills to clearly report technical information. Capacity to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with attention to detail. Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required For The PositionBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. 1-2 years of experience in a NOC or similar network support role. Prior hands-on experience with network hardware and software.
