Run what runs the worldThis Position reports to:Production SupervisorYour Role And Responsibilities (Mandatory)In this role, you will have the opportunity to help the unit achieve set production goals by adhering to systems and processes. Every day, you will use manual touch-up machines on electronic boards (PCBs) after they have been assembled, to correct defects in soldering or component placement. You will also showcase your expertise by reading and interpreting the technical drawings/instructions for assembly.You will be mainly accountable for:Checks boards after welding (manually or by machine).Identifies defects such as cold welds, weld bridges, misaligned or missing components.Use tools like soldering iron, microscope, pliers, etc.Corrects detected defects to ensure the card meets IPC standardsRemoves and replaces defective or misplaced components.Can work with SMD (surface mount) or THT (through-hole) components.Records defects encountered and corrective actions taken.Can collaborate with the quality department to improve processes.Follows ESD (Electrostatic Discharge Protection) procedures.Maintains a clean and organized work environment.Qualifications For The Role (Mandatory)Training in electronics, electromechanics or electronic board assembly (an asset).Experience in retouching or inspecting electronic boards (1 to 2 years desired).Mastery of manual welding techniques (SMD and THT).Reading and interpreting printed circuit board plans and bills of materials (BOMs).Knowledge of IPC (Electronic Assembly Quality) standards an asset.Ability to detect visual defects: cold welds, bridges, missing or misdirected componentsAbility to work in a team and communicate with Teams Leaders.Compliance with safety and quality procedures.French and English required to understand work instructions and communicate with the team ABB values the dedication, commitment, and expertise of our employees.
