The future isn’t waiting – we’re building it now.The roleAs an engineer focusing on substation assets at Vector, you will help shape the future of Auckland’s electricity network. You will have the opportunity to work at both tactical and strategic levels.In a single day you might refine long-term asset strategies that guide the network for decades, then head into the field to help resolve operational issues. You will analyse asset performance, develop fleet strategies and engineering designs, set maintenance standards, and support delivery teams across a range of substation assets.You’ll collaborate closely with field crews and stakeholders, contribute to risk-based and data-driven investment decisions, build asset-risk models, and support failure investigations. The role offers significant technical variety and the chance to drive both technology and organisational improvement.The role on offer is at an engineer level for someone with between 1 and 5 years of experience.
